Help please


So, this might seem a little strange, but I don't own a sewing machine. I have been researching them and I just don't know what would be the best choice. I have heard that vintage is the way to go, but I have also heard that the newer electronic sewing machines are awesome.

I am obviously a beginner, so the machine would be used to make simple crafty things. Nothing TOO major.  Any suggestions? I would hate to make the wrong choice! Much appreciated.

wow! how fun kerz! i am a little surprised at the vintage machine option because i've heard they are considerably more work. but i suppose that may be part of the fun. i have a very cheap, basic model by the brand brother called the XL-3500 and love it. it is SO simple to use and havent had any problems for 4 years. its certainly nothing fancy but it has everything (and more) that i will ever need. chris got it at wal-mart so you know the price is right!

by the way- i ate at cheeburger on 5th last night and thought about you the WHOLE time i slurrped my malt!!!!
